Preserving land for future generations
Support the Land Legacy Fund
A 2002 study by the Kent County Board of Commissioners determined a reasonable goal would be a
park system of 7,500 acres. With 6,700 acres already, this goal is attainable. We expect all of
the remaining 800 acres will expand existing parks, rather than create new ones. Meeting this goal
will position Kent County’s Park System to meet the needs of current and future generations.
Therefore Kent County hopes to acquire a minimum of 200 acres per year to be added to our regional
parks, those classified as larger than 200 acres. WE NEED YOUR HELP to make this possible.
We are in a race against time: working to preserve uniquely valuable parcels of undeveloped land
for public use. The Land Legacy Fund is our way to help with this worthy goal. Please consider a
gift today. All gifts to the Land Legacy Fund will ONLY be used to acquire and preserve land for public use.
